At London East Academy we work in partnership with parents to provide a balanced caring education. The curriculum is the whole experience of our pupils including activities taking place off-site. We follow the National Curriculum framework and RS is a compulsory subject.

As part of the curriculum our students will pursue a series of compulsory enrichment activities; these include Work Experience, Debate Club, Sports Activities such as Boxing Club and Football Club. Information Communication Technology (ICT) will be used to facilitate learning in addition to meeting National Curriculum requirements. Through cross-curricular Personal, Social and Health Education sessions, students gain awareness of related issues and an understanding of personal development. Equal opportunities, study skills and careers education will form a major element within the programme.

Differentiated learning methods will be employed to ensure that students at all levels of ability take full advantage of the curriculum.

Regular testing and assessment will be integral to the curriculum with full reports sent to parents/guardians annually. Parents/guardians will be encouraged to co-operate with the school by monitoring their child’s work and activities, by frequent inspection of the Homework diary and by attending meetings arranged for the purpose of discussing student’s progress.

Career & Work Experience

All boys will receive guidance interviews through the course of Years 10 and 11. Individual interviews help them to make informed choices about their educational or work-related pathways at the end of Year 11.

All Year 10 boys take part in a period of work experience (minimum of one week) at the end of Year 10 which is used to support the work-related learning curriculum.
